Plexus is an independent social and environmental governance advisory consultancy providing strategic and practical support to the extractive, energy, infrastructure and related financial sectors – at both project and corporate levels.
We assist clients in identifying and managing socio-economic and environmental risks using practical and fit-for-purpose strategies, implementation plans and management systems to mitigate impacts, build and maintain the social licence to operate, and capitalise on business opportunities. Throughout the entire project lifecycle we work proactively with clients to improve their social and environmental performance at operational locations and with stakeholders. In addition, we assist clients in complying with international project finance requirements, notably the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards.
We also work directly with financial institutions, including the World Bank, in the areas of research, auditing and project reviews, and training and capacity building.
Headquartered in London, our executive team is supported by a virtual global network of associate consultants. This allows us to offer a resourcing model that is able to scale in accordance with client needs, and ensures that we can offer wide geographical coverage with access to local knowledge.
Our team covers a wealth of disciplines ranging from indigenous and community engagement, economics, law, communications, anthropology, political science, public health and sociology to engineering and natural sciences.
We combine broad industry, project and academic experience in the areas of:
- Social audits and due diligence
- Socio-economic impact assessment
